An accolade of THANKS to begin:
•Thank you to those of you who gave up all or part of your February 13 to join in the BGC-CC Day of Prayer;
•Thank you to The Living Christ Community Church for hosting us at your new building, a "gift" from God and the former Christ Lutheran Church;
•Thank you to those of you who joined Esther and me at our home later that evening for our open house;
•Thank you to City Church, Grant Memorial Church and New Life Church (Stonewall) for bringing your young adults to last week's 2020 Summit in Canmore, AB. Our Central Canada district comprised 15 of the 75 + participants, so I was pleased with our turnout.
•Thanks to God for the BGC-CC pastors and churches that we have had the privilege of shepherding and serving for the past 12 years.
Recently, and on more than one occasion, I have been convicted of our being too busy, and in saying "our" I mean "us" as pastors in general. I think most of us would agree that busyness does not translate into effectiveness or ministry productiveness, and yet we continue to get drawn onto the merry-go-round of overly full days, evenings and weekends, weeks and even months on end.
Pause...reflect...on Jesus' words to Mary and Martha, as recorded in Luke 10:38-42. Perhaps it is time for you and I to rediscover that "one thing that is necessary" in our lives, for which Mary is commended.
A helpful resource that has been recommended to me in aiding us to be more effective in the use of our time is Moran's and Lennington's book entitled The 12 Week Year.
I am committed to providing you with a free copy of this resource, provided you commit to reading it and follow up with meeting with me one-on-one to discuss its usefulness in your own life and ministry
Just contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or at (204) 479-9071 (204) 479-9071 and we will make the arrangements to get this book to you and to schedule a time to meet together.
Till next time, pause...reflect...enjoy some unhurried time....
